Who doesn’t love hackatons? We surely do — this is why we greatly encourage them. We received an invitation from our friends at Simpliolabs to join them over the weekend and help them – by using the Appscend platform — build and manage performative mobile apps in just a few hours. And we did it — in just two days — Simpliolabs designed their very own mobile apps without having used Appscend before. You noticed the without, right?
Simpliolabs is a Romanian – US startup company that manages the development on web and mobile applications with a promising team (experienced and junior programmers). The Simpliolabs team started an year ago and it’s constantly growing. Thus, they are young, hungry and talented entrepreneurs eager for success, just as Appscend is.
“The Hackathon idea first started as a teambuilding, to have fun while programming.” mentions Dragos Musetescu, CTO of Simpliolaobs. The theme of the meeting was mobile app building. The platform Simploilabs choose was Appscend and the results: “After this event we got to the conclusion that we can use Appscend to develop applications for our clients. ”
After using Appscend, and without a previous experience of mobile app development through Appscend, the team believes they have succeeded in building native apps, benefiting from a complete documentation and case studies on how to implement and become accustomed to the Ignite Markup language: “In a relative short time, the teams — 9 people in total — have developed a functional application or a sketch, each. We were very impressed on how fast we can build and manage mobile apps“.
Below, we have summed up a few testimonials from the Simpliolabs team and, of course, screenshots of the app. We’re very exited about such live case studies of Appscend: sharing with people the experience of building and managing something truly unique and we are bound to make them happen once more. So, where’s the next hackaton?
Ionut Popescu – Senior Developer
“For me the experience using Appscend platform was great. I was surprised to see that I can convert mobile website to iOS and Android in about 2 minutes. Also the programing language used it’s great. A junior can do it too, just using XML. For conclusion, I think I will use it for future and I’m waiting for more features on Appscend platform”.
Octavian Rachieru – Senior Developer
“Developing mobile applications is an interesting concept for me. I find the idea of your platform of great help and ingenuity. It makes the workflow go smoother and faster, reducing the time spent and the programing knowledge required. The learning curve seems to be quite elevated, keeping in mind that there are some tutorials provided”.
