With the half year mark already behind us, some interesting figures surfaced regarding the ongoing market share war between the mobile platforms in the U.S. Research company Comscore shows in its study that Android has gained a 0.6 % marketshare from March 2012 when it was accounting a total of 51%. Today, at 51.6% Android is still the leading platform although iOS has met a healthy growth in the U.S. market now totaling 32.4% with a healthy 1.7% increase from March 2012.
The two operating systems are currently accounting for 84% of the smartphone market the 2 platforms have become a natural choice for organizations embracing mobility. The remaining 16 percent are split between Blackberry 10.2%, Microsoft 3,8% and Symbian which has reached an all time low at 0.9%.
